Garmin Approach R10 — Best budget all-rounder

The default entry point. Cheap, portable, works indoors and at the range, and doesn't force a subscription. Accuracy is good-not-great, but unbeatable for the money.

The Garmin Approach R10 is the launch monitor most people start with, and for good reason. At around $550 it's the cheapest way into a proper home setup that also works at the range, and it doesn't force you into a subscription to get the basics. It sits behind you and uses radar, so you'll need a decent amount of depth to hit into, and the club data it reports is limited and partly calculated rather than measured.

Buy it if you're new to sim golf, want to practise on a budget, and can live with good-not-great accuracy. If you're a serious player chasing precise club numbers, or you're building a permanent studio, you'll outgrow it — but as a first launch monitor it's very hard to beat for the money.
